Do encrypt the my.settings stored value as you can edit it with notepad to gain access to the 'full version' by simply turning 'false' into 'true' with the way Comathi suggested (yet it is a very good idea Comathi )

You are unable to check that, you can simply make a demo version of your program that is limited in use (in functions) and make a payed version.
