Try Ubuntu. Seems to work good :) I thought of trying Ubuntu but it requires a minimum of 1GB RAM whereas the computer has only 256MB. I wouldn't call it silly... New computers are made everyday and have most likely a higher score than older desktops. It also depends on price of course.
