My PC has a hard drive that runs at 7200rpm, so most files open up instantaneously.

My question is: how large are the screens of a mac (diagonally)

I believe the bus type the drive uses will also impact how much data can be transferred over time as well as the rpm.

Mac screens can vary depending on the model. The desktop models from 2007-2009 go from 17" to 24".
