Defragging will just do a bunch of writes that'll kill it even more, back up your data and get a new HDD asap.

Yeah it seemed to mess up my other Windows 7 install on dual boot, luckily all my stuff is on a separate HDD and I haven't had any compatibility issues with Win 10 but it is still pre-alpha.

I decided to give Windows 10 a try for myself and installed it my laptop. sys.png I must say I'm very pleased with it so far. It's the smoothest and most responsive version of Windows I've used yet. Here's a nice build, the GPU and built in GPU (on the APU) can be put in crossfire which gives a nice free performance boost. Also it's colour matched :)

The amount of GDDR Ram the graphics card doesn't matter at all unless you're running SLI, well, too little can be bad, but 1gb is enough for a single monitor setup, anything more doesn't increase performance noticeably.
