About Smultron:
Earlier today I was looking for a good text editor. One for a Mac, but was very similar to Notepad++ on Windows, and I came across Smultron.

Smultron is an easy to use, yet powerful text editor programmed in Cocoa for Mac users. Unfortunately it's no longer in development according to it's Sourceforge page. However when viewing it's official website I see it is still an active application, however it costs $4.99, but you can get it for free on Sourceforge.

Some features it has are Snipplets where you can have it generate an anchor for example <a href=""></a>.
It can also compile Java applications, make executables, covert to HTML, etc: etc:

You can find a word, or whatever using the built in search you see in the screenshot, and the advanced search on it's right can allow you to do the same thing, but replace what words have been highlighted, and more...

My favorite feature it has overall is the Preview feature where you can view the site and see what it looks like with what you've applied, and if you check Live Update you can see the changes you've made to it live. It's about a 2 sec delay, but works like a charm.

BTW: The Preview feature supports CSS3, HTML5, and JQuery

Plus has some great customizability options. I recommend every Mac user to give this text editor a try, Sure beats using TextEdit

System Requirements:
  • Mac OS X 10.5+
  • 5.6MB of hd space

Never used it, nor heard of it. I've heard of TextWrangler, but I don't have a mac anymore. This one was running on a virtual machine, and my current comp doesn't have the processing power or enough ram to run OS 10.

I've been using Komodo Edit for a few hours, and it's a very nice cross platform text editor. I recommend giving it a try. Not sure if I'm going to use this as my main desktop IDE or not.
