I was just wondering if there is any way to get the local IP address on an ad-hoc (peer-to-peer/computer-to-computer) network? I got the Colasoft MAC scanner, but the range of the network is so large so it takes time to scan. If i could set a static address too that would be the best.

If you are using a wired/wireless network then you should be able to see the local systems in the network control panel.

Sorry for the late reply. But this is for a local network for playing minecraft at my school (lol not allowed). I created an ad-hoc network, yea wireless, and let the other people connect to the network. But how can I get the server IP for them to connect to?

You would need to specify a static IP on each machine that uses the ad-hoc network.
If that is not possible then you will need to set up a DHCP server on one of the systems.
