I presume you want to get rid of the C: drive and install an operating system on J: ?

You can delete the C: partition, then resize the J: partition. Afterwards you can install an OS.

It is worth making an image of the drive beforehand in case anything goes wrong during the process.

nooo i have an os installled on both drives(c and j) already. now i use the j drive and i want to delete the C drive so i can add on to the j drive

If you want to keep an existing OS on the J: drive then this could complicate matters; there will be additional commands that need to be run depending on the bootloader that you are using.

Then the bootloader on your C drive would be the topic of discussion.
