Now select the Bucket Fill tool & change the Foreground Color to b0a090.
Now fill the rectangle with that color.

Now have it centered on your GIMP Document.

Now I would like you to right click on the new layer & click on Add Alpha Channel.
Right after you've done that go to Filters/Noise/HSV Noise

Your contents must be.
Holdness: 1
Hue: 3
Saturation: 35
Value: 62
Image

Now go to Filters/Blue/Motion Blur
Length: 42
Angle: 271

Now add a gradient to the top and bottom of your rectangle.

Now copy and paste the rectangle, 1px next to the other rectangles.

Now the final touch is to go to Colors/Curves and mess with that until you get a result that looks like wood or close to the design below.
