Hi guys!

I decided to make a tutorial on how to make a "Softwarebox" with

Photoshop.
This is an example of a softwarebox (found it on internet)
Image
Okay,
to make a box like this, we'll need 2 images, a front image and a side image.

I'm not teaching how to make these images (just be original), but I'm
teaching you how to make a nice box with these images.

These are the images I'll use.
Front:
Image

Side:
Image

Okay, let's start.
Create a new image (big enough, you need enough space to work in).
Backgroundcolor = Transparent.
Then, go to your front image (open in it Photoshop if you didn't do it yet).
Don't forget to merge all the layers if you didn't do it yet.
How to merge layers:
Click the top layer, hold CTRL and click the bottom layer (so you'll have all layers selected, then right-mouse click and choose something like Merge layers. Maby this translation is wrong (I have Dutch Photoshop).
Okay, once they're merged, press CTRL + A (Select all) and then CTRL + C (Copy).
Go to the new image your created and press CTRL + V (Paste).
You'll see the front will appear, move it a little, so you can put the side at the right.
So, do the same with the Side image (CTRL + A & CTRL + C).
Then paste it (CTRL + V) in the image. Place it at the right like it did in this image.

Image

Okay...
They're both at the same image, but I doesn't look like a box yet.
Select the layer with the front image on it and press CTRL + T (Transform). Right-click on the image and choose Perspective.
Then take the corner of the image and replace it to the left. It should look like this.

Image

It doesn't look real, so just right-click again and choose the first option.
Hold this little point and make it a little smaller.

Image

Then press enter (= this will transform it).
Now do the same with the other layer (side image).
Once your done, right-click the second layer (with the side image) and choose the second option.
Now you'll get some kind of dialog. Check 9th checkbox (This should be something like Color Overlay, I don't know what it is translated).
Now this layer will come completely red, but that's not what we want.
Click the red box and change it to Black.
Then Change the Opacity (or something) from 100% to something else.
So, just look at your box and look what looks best. (This will make the layer a little darker so it looks more real).
It starts looking good.
This is my result right now.

Image

But, we're not finished yet.
So, click OK in the dialog (if you didn't do it yet).
Select all the layers and merge them.
So select them by holding CTRL and right-click and choose something like Merge layers.
Now, right-click the layer you've made and choose the second option.
The dialog will appear again.
Check the first checkbox and change the things a little. I used these settings, but if it looks bad with your box, you can still change it a little.

Image

Do also check this checkbox and change it. This is what I have, but I have a very big box, so this will probably look different then yours does.

Image

If you're done, just click OK.
If you have a lot of transparent and a little box, just crop the image so you don't have a huge image.
I hope you liked this tutorial.
Oh, and last but not least some tricks to make it look professional.

* Put a Windows logo on your box (So people know it's for Windows).
* Screenshots could be usefull at the box (small ones on the side or some bigger at the front. Just do what you like.
* If you use a colored stroke at the boxes, it looks cool! :P

Have fun!
And be original. Oh! And don't forget to post your boxes over here, I would like to see the results or you, guys! :)

Oh, and this is my final result:
