Some may wonder what designing software do you use for photo manipulation, 3d, animation, video special effects, audio editing, etc: etc:
Here's what I use
Graphic Designing/Editing:
Gimp for almost all my designing purposes. Such as Photo Manipulation, Animation, 3D Designing, Vector Art, etc: etc: Mainly use Blender for 3d designing, but I also use Gimp for that sometimes too.
For 3d landscapes most of the time I use Bryce 5.5.
As for web apps I use Sumo Paint once in awhile, cause in my opinion it's the best free web based alternative to PhotoShop out there, but I'm a proud member of Aviary.com, but once in a great while I'll use their image editor Phoenix, as well as their effects editor Peacock.
Video Editing:
Wax 2.0
Cinelerra
LiVES
OpenShot
Blender
Sometimes just for some fun I'll use Gimp (Click Here: to view my video tutorial on using Gimp for Video Special Effects).
Audio Making/Editing:
Audacity for audio editing
LMMS (Linux MultiMedia Studio) for making beats/songs
As for web apps I'd like to say that I'm a proud member of Aviary.com, and once in a while I use their web app Myna for audio editing, and I also use their web app Roc for making beats/songs.

Well for me I use a very Old version of Photoshop = Photoshop7 ( which has Image Ready built in ) and a really old version of 3D Studio mAX = 3D Studio mAX V.3. If i need to create icons i use IconFX (free) if i want to manipulate and or make some music i use Audiocity and Fruity Loops8. If i am in an Web/Animation mood then i might just do something in Flash8, then use DreamweaverMX to lay it all out.
These are my most frequently used programs, apart from VB .net cooll;

Hmm well, for me:
For basic image creating i'd use 3D Studio Max 2010, then for adding certain things on i'd use Photoshop CS4 (might be buying CS5), and i'm thinking of starting to take an intrest in using Gimp, all though i've NEVER used it... for video editing i'd use Adobe After Effects or Sony Vegas 9, and for audio editing maybe audacity cooll;

Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Microsoft Visual Web Developer Kit.
