I noticed the newest post section has changed. I think it looks nice, but at times I prefer the old one.

I have some recommendations for small changes to make for it to be better (in my opinion)
(1)-There should be more than 3 topics shown at once, maybe 5 or 6, or possibly even a custom amount
I can't see many of the new topics at once, ant if I am reading the title of the topic, I have little time to read it before it goes away.
(2)-Wait longer to 'rotate' the posts the first time.
A few times so far, I went to the home page, and wanted to look at the first topic on the list. When I went to click on it, the posts rotated, and the topic I wanted to view was hidden. that made me need to wait for the topic to come back again.
(3)-Something like the pause/play/navigate buttons on AOL News. This would let us pause the rotating, and also rotate faster through the posts, and also temporarily pause the rotating of posts

(4)-My last idea is the ability to disable the rotation, and use the old New Post section. This can let the users choose which "New Posts" section they prefer, and have a better experience on codenstuff.
I hope some of these ideas can be taken into consideration. I have put up a poll to vote and see which ideas are good or not.

I totally agree. I actually find the new section quite annoying

I can see some people liking it, so it is definitely something to keep on the site, but it needs a bit of improvement.
Like all the template changes im experimenting with its a work in progress so theres bound to be a few issues and it can take a while to get use to changes. The current template/layout had been around for over a year now and we have all got use to it but it does need updating to brighten/liven it up so we can keep making the site better and better ;)
Some minor changes like the new posts on home page I will be adding to the sites current templates but in a few days ill add a sortof 'beta' template to the site to use to test the new layouts and people can choose to use/try it or not while its being worked on and onced finished ill apply the changes to the current templates.
As for the home page new posts ive added a temporary solution to make viewing them easier so ive increased the cycle to 4 seconds and added a pause function so it will stop rotating when you place your mouse in the box and continue when you remove the mouse and ive also added a manual feature that allows you to force scrolling by just clicking inside the box so you can rotate the posts yourself..that should solve your problem for now cooll;

Hey
I like it
The Only thing i see that is problematic, is the fact that you have to wait to read each Post as it Scrolls up...
But the idea looks great, Shame their is not enough space for a bigger one
