I was also making a Sound recorder half an year ago but just threw it away because I don't had any codes for the Volume meter! Now I'll start it again (from the beginning!)
Socttie thats why I gave the link for the C# to VB.NET Converter, so you can just drop the codes there and convert them.

If you don't know C#, it is not hard at all. It is practically VB with a bunch of symbols like < > ]} and stuff. You can try it if you want.
