There's 2 ways the pen tool works (called paths tool in gimp). You can use it to select objects as seen in my crappy gimp tutorial here on making lightsabers, or stroke the path as seen on this dude's tutorial. (idk how to say it better than that.
Here's an example of a gaussian blur (I also went over them in the lightsaber tutorial)

Cool, and the blur looks like a Gaussian Blur to me.
Will/Does this support transparency???
This maybe an app worth supporting if it gets more improvements, I'd love to see it become a community project so others can improve on it as well.
