I mean that the company that my dad works for uses excel and word for some reports and documents.
To make the work easy he and other workers have been told to work with macros.

What are the uses of macros and how do they work? I have seen macros like mouse recorders but haven't made any of them.

In MS Office you can use macros to automate tasks in documents.

You can do practically anything you normally would like opening documents, switching worksheets, replacing text, doing calculations etc.
