Well, you're definitely on your way. You really only highlight the most common tags, but if they use an ID, class, etc. they won't be highlighted. I believe the All-In-One Coding Framework has an example on markup highlighting using RegEx (Regular Expressions) and System.XML, you may want to check it out.
