Well remember that a notebook is a "portable desktop", and a netbook is more of a laptop, which is mainly for the web/net. So I see you're looking for a notebook, being a "portable desktop" there's plenty of good laptops out there, I got mine back when Vista was released so it was quite awhile ago, but I do everything on this, and it runs fine (except running games, and game development, as I need to upgrade my graphics card)

I stick with laptops (notebooks specifically) cause if I'm going to be gone from my home in a week or more I take it with me so I can work on projects, and such. I have a spare battery charger (power cord) in my laptop bag, and I keep one here at the house, but if you're going to be moving around, it maybe a good idea to stick with a laptop, but if you're computer is just gonna sit in one place, and never be moved, then choose a desktop. (Like I said I stick with a laptop that way I can bring this everywhere I go, but it's kind of hard being 15' LCD screen, and the laptop alone being 16.5')

Now the AVADirect Silverstone Raven Desktop Gaming PC is the fastest gaming pc, and maybe the fastest computer to date, but it's pretty pricey at $6,650

The MALIBAL Nine X7200 Laptop is a beast of a laptop, with the starting price being at $2,075.

Now if you're looking for a cheap, but powerful gaming laptop then you can look into the Toshiba Satellite A665-3DV 3D Gaming Laptop it's price is $1,050, but actually trying this myself it's worth it, great performance, and everything, plus it's cheap for a gaming laptop.

I'd go for a laptop. I have a Dell Inspiron laptop and have got no complaints of it so far.
Specs:
500 GB HDD
6 GB RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Sapphire Raedon 1 GB Graphics Card

Didn't I mention I'm not a gamer? No? then let me tell you, I'm not a gamer, I was. I just need it for programming + graphic designing. But you gave me a great idea! I'll be a game developer as well. And I'm also learning QT Creator. And I live in Qatar, can anyone tell me the best deals in here?

If you're looking for a powerful laptop at a cheap price, for what you already said, programming, designing, game development, etc: then take a look at Toshiba Satellite A665-3DV 3D Gaming Laptop It's $1,050, but even though it's a gaming laptop, it's a cheap gaming laptop that's pretty powerful, and will do everything I said above.

Hello everyone, Today morning (approximately 12 hours before), I went to a bookstore (precisely Jarir Bookstore) and looked at some of the laptops. I really liked one of them which I also saw 2 days before on another plaza (precisely Lulu Hypermarket) and the price was very reasonable so I bought it. So here is it's description:

TOSHIBA Satellite L655 - 10U
CORE i5 - 480M
4096MB RAM 1066MHZ / 1GB VRAM
640GB HDD (5400RPM) SATA
39.6CM/15.6INCH TRUBRITE HD LED
DVD - SUPER - MULTI DRIVE (2 - LAYER)
COLOR: LUXE WHITE PEARL
BLUETOOTH / W - LAN(802.11B/G/N)
WEB CAMERA
MICROSOFT WIN7 HOME PREMIUM 64BIT

This is what is printed exactly on it's box. Now please comment how good is this laptop.

I didn't asked about yours lol. And also can you guys suggest some basic softwares which to install. Like antivirus, microsoft office etc. And also can anyone give me a link to a working good iso of win xp sp3 pro? Cuz I don't want to spend money on something which I bought and doesn't works. I got a win xp original disk and it stopped working in between a setup process and never again worked. The reseller says it's a cd writing fault and he is not responsible for it.
