What A Pain

When your VB project is 95% completed and VB throws you an "unknown error occur" then VB just crashes without backing up your project it a pain in the ___ to start it over again.

I was continuing my project and I was about to compile it for release VB just kicked me in the butt.
The whole project got deleted...
The form is now a regular form and not the customized form.
every controls that was on the form also disappeared.

After working on it for so long and hard I've lost most of my determination to build it from scratch again =]

It would take me another 10-24 hours to completely rewrite the project alone D:<
I never had these problems before on Windows XP....Im so tempted to go back to XP but since I love windows 7 I'll give it another chance.

Just sharing my anger with you all :P

Hello NoWayIn,

Sorry to hear about that but I know your not the only one its happened too. To be honest ive been using VS2010 for a couple of months and after its been running for a couple of hours it seems to mess up and some controls/options stop working so I have to restart it.

Did you save the project you were working on? because your exact error happened to me once when I opened an old project the form was completely blank but the code was still their. It turned out VB had messed up the designer file so I changed something in that and it all came back.

And yes always save your project on a regular basis while working on it.

Hope you get it sorted cooll;

If it crashed before you saved it the project may still be in a temporary folder somewhere
Try checking in %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Temporary Projects

Yeah same here Cody, after 1 hour i cant write code, i cant change the current page (design, code), i cant edit the form, i can only use backspace and worst of all i cant save, but i can compile, then i have to restart!

Hey Cody I had a Virtual Operating System I was making a while back, and it screwed up the main form. What do I do to the Form1.Designer.vb to fix it?
