I was having a great afternoon on the Computer when I had a phone call from a Nice lady in India, She tells me that Microsoft are getting Complaints about my IP Address as its sending lots of Junk or whatever, mmm News to me :?
So she said Type in "Eventvwr" in your Windows Search to view your Event Log
WOW i HAD 4,475 ERRORS on my Harddrive, after asking me what Antivirus i was using, and I said Avast, she suggested getting a Paid one as obviously Avast is not picking this stuff up ;)
But I have no probs with my machine it runs and does everything that it should, So i have Bought Norton ( with Licence for use on 3 Computers) So when that arrives i will do the Biz.
I hope this was not a Ploy from Microsoft to get people to Pay for Antivirus rather than use the Free Versions
Anyone else had a PhoneCall saying anything like i have had above??
Chris

Hello hungryhounduk,
Was it your ISP that called you?, if not then who did she say she worked for exactly :?
Its strange because I still keep getting those "junk" emails from your email address, I know its not you sending them though. Also do you remember the PM I sent you about the ban error we had and your IP address..check your wireless connections/security/firewall because someone maybe hijacking your connection :x
Its all very strange still lol
Hope you sort it out cooll;

I agree with CodenStuff, i think its the antivirus or from the internet firewall.
I wouldn't suggest Norton but... its up to you.
But i wonder who she is dunnno;

Hi
I think she was from my ISP = AOL
When i had that problem with the 90 odd emails that got sent , i had the 90 emails returned by AOL, as they all ended up in my Inbox as returned Mail :?
But I have none Since that day, so i dont know why they are getting sent, as i am not getting them returned
I have just checked the Computer Settings and:
Windows Defender = On and running Fine
Internet Security = On
Firewall = On
Malware Scanner = On
mmm it is a weird one
