Hello Coders,

Its impossible not to notice all the new technology thats hitting the market these days with Smart phones, PDAs, Tablet computers and Media players all using the latest software and most are open source. We have all seen the iPhone/iPad take off quite rapidly and they have 100s of developers creating 1000s of apps for them and now with most mobiles and tablet computers using Googles Android system and not forgetting the new Windows Phones that are now hitting the market and opening the doors to all kinds of possibilities especially for us programmers we now have a massive choice of devices and new opportunities to develop for them.

I think we need to embrace all this new tech and start developing apps for them aswell as offering help, support, tutorials and code for them which is why I have decided that come the new year we should have a good cleanup of the forums and reorganise the categories aswell as adding a lot of new ones to cover these devices and softwares. Aswell as the forum cleanup I will add new sections to the site itself with links to SDKs and other resources needed in order to develop for these devices and desktop programming.

I also want to add a "Shop" section to the site that will allow you to submit and sell your Software/Apps for real cash money and for those of you who are too young to have say a Paypal account we will offer help with that aswell by maybe accepting payment through the Codenstuff account and then offering you various ways to use the money you have earned. Markets such as app store, app hub and android require a subscription fee or a large one off payment which most of us simply cant afford so what I may do is open a company account in these markets and submit/sell the apps on your behalf using the company account. At the moment this is just an idea on paper but one that I think would make a great addition to the site and help us all in the future.

Codenstuff.com is a programming website and we need to keep up with new tech and software even if most of us decide not to use it there will be people coming here who do use it so either way im certain it will be beneficial to the site and everyone on it.

This will all happen in the new year so I wont be messing with the site just yet but I wanted to let you all know what I had in mind and to have your say on what ive just said aswell as giving your own suggestions on what to do with the site. If you have any ideas at all on how to improve the site then please let me know..any ideas like:

New sections for the site
New categories
New features
Do you think we need to remove something / change something or add something

This is a great idea Craig! But, I'm too young for a payPal account, so I liked your suggestion for codenstuff-real cash. But can we use this cash to buy SDKs and stuff? Can you make such a system? That would be great!

its a very good idea , i don't know if it exist in the UK , but can you buy 'wallie cards' in the UK ? Since i can sell those in the real world :P

well if ur going to change the forums color. light colors would do good. dark colors. no. (in my suggestion)

I like the site design like it is now, i don't think we need to change it. But, i think we need a better blog system because this one i don't like.

Since this will not only be computer apps, i got a suggestion for people to do a CodenStuff Mobile App, which includes reading, writing, topics. Something like TapaTalk

I like the logo, but it would be nice adding design to it, but keep the original colors(blue,red,black).

The idea I currently have for those of you who are too young to accept payments and use online payment systems is that you could exchange the money you earn for things like Amazon vouchers and vouchers for other websites which you can legally use to buy whatever you want. You could also ask us to buy something on your behalf and have it sent to you and things like that.

The system will be integrated with code credits so you can track your own sales, see how many copies youve sold..how much youve earned and choose to exchange your earnings for whatever you want. Your "real cash" will be seperate from code credits just to be clear.

The site theme/layout will definately change as the site moves forward and we make improvements and add new features in the future. I think the future is looking good for our Codenstuff.com cooll;

With the shop idea, maybe there could be virtual money, and after time, we could exchange the "Money" for things like amazon gift cards (like you said), Real money, peoples projects in the shop. We can also earn the Virtual money through special contests, Donations, etc.

I also think that we need new things in the credit shop (I've purchased everything i possibly can from the credit shop).

I agree, we need more things in the credit shop, i have 500+( ) credits and there is nothing i can do with them.

I think that we really need a cleanup. I mean all the source codes and other stuff are messed up. And about the shop, it would be really great if we could buy and sell softwares, source codes and get money. And maybe you can find a survey site that is really good, so all the community can join it and make some good money every month. By this way we could also get some donations for the website. And in my opinion, the new type of programming i.e. mobile, smartphones etc. should also be integrated. And we can also join a software company to make softwares for them and in return get free softwares that they make and money also. That would be a great idea! And the last thing that I want to say is that the design and layout of this site seems to suite it very well so theres no need for a change.
