Hello,

I mean no offense (in case it offends the British), but what does "biscuit" mean in American English?

The reason I just thought of this question is because I am eating country ham, sausage, cheesy hashbrowns, and biscuits. And in American English, a biscuit is a bread that is sometimes buttered, and typically used to hold meats or veggies. It is puffed up. Image:

Bisuits are sweet snacks. What we call Biscuits in the UK I think Americans call them Cookies..although we have cookies in the UK aswell lol.

A very popular "Biscuit" in America is "Oreo's"....those are biscuits to us brits

Do you have any of these biscuits in America..apart from Oreo's?

I have never heard of those, but custard creams, if it isn't a brand, is a donut it sounds like.

Oreo's are cookies too.

What about chocolate chip cookies in American English, do people there call them chocolate chip biscuits?

I only know Oreo and Digestive. I call the ones with chocolate cookies, and the other ones biscuits.
