i was on ebay buying more DDR2 RAM for my computer and i keep seein DDR3 RAM.
to buy 1GB DDR2 RAM it cost about £10 upwards.
but to buy 4GB DDR3 RAM it cost about £10 aswel
so why dose ddr2 cost more than ddr3?.

It's ebay, the seller can choose for how much he offers it
it can be different brands too, or used ones

Most probably just due to production
DDR3 is used in all current modern computers so theres a bigger demand for it and they make more of it so the price is really low. About a year ago DDR2 was the main one but manufacturers are stopping making motherboards for DDR2 so demand for that is low and the price has increased..same with DDR you will also find that more exapensive than DDR2 now.
Basically the older components get the more they cost because people stop making them and gradually become harder to find :?
If your computer uses DDR2 like mine does then I dont think DDR3 will work on it anyway.

@CodenStuff: i think that too.
so dose drr3 work on a computer that uses drr2? or do you have to get a new motherboard?

no, not only will it not work, it will not even fit in the DDR2 slot.
DDR2 has a "gap" about halfway between each stick, DDR3 has a gap about 2/3 of the way down on side. So you'd need to buy a new motherboard.
