Laptop Fan (Problem, I guess)

Hello Codenstuffers, I need some help here. Yesterday, my laptop gave a strange sound suddenly, I strongly think it was the fan. I thought it was due to over-heating. So I shut down my laptop for a day and right now, when I started it, it gave the same sound again, once when the windows logo appeared (loading screen) and the second time when I opened Speccy a minute ago to see the temperatures. I installed Autodesk 3DS Max Design (which I won in a school competition) yesterday and my laptop is giving the sound since then. Is it due to the software? I need some help.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Try vacuum cleaning the fan. I do once a month just to make sure it doesn't pack up with dust in there.

I think the noise was of the fan increasing it's speed. And how do I vacuum clean it? I can't insert a 12 inch vacuum cleaner in it. Instead will a hair dryer work?
You wont have to insert it inside your fan, just point it at the fan and start vacuuming, and I would be a bit careful with the hair dryer, don't take it at the warmest air.

I tried cleaning using a dryer but still the problem persists. And btw, according to Speccy, my CPU, Graphics Card and Motherboard go up to 60-65 Degree Celsius even when small processes (such as Speccy, Openoffice etc.) are open or opening. I don't think it was due to dust in the fan but due to the increase in temperature. Is there anyone out there who can possibly help me?
EDIT: And also normally TOSHIBA PC Health Monitor shows that the fan's speed is 50-55% but when the sound starts (fan speed increases), it goes up to 75%.

You said it made the sound when the windows logo appeared and when you ran software are you sure the sound you hear is the fan and not the harddrive?.
Laptops do increase the fan speed every-so-often depending on what your doing if your using a lot of cpu power (watching movies/playing high end games/using high resource software) the cpu/ram and hdd will heat up and cause the fan to speed up in order to cool them down and that can last for a few minutes at a time..completely normal in most cases. Make sure you keep the back of the laptop elevated aswell so air can circulate underneath it.

Hey
If its a Squeek type of sound and happens evertime you start up, it could be a Harddrive Problem, as i have had loads of those over the years and its always been the Harddrive on its way out or failing.
If you can get to the fan, Try putting a very small drop of 3in1 oil onto the middle of the fan where it spins... this might help or might not help
hope you get it sorted

I'm sure it's the fan cuz in the TOSHIBA PC Health Monitor also, it showed the increase in speed. And yes Cody, the back is elevated. And heating should not be a problem cuz even when I did heavy gaming (GTA IV with ENB and everything at it's max) it never gave that sound and the speed never increased that much. IMO, it is due to the software I installed yesterday (Autodesk 3DS Max Design 2012). What do you guys suggest.
The speed suddenly increases when I start even a small process like Speccy or Visual Basic. Do you think formatting will help. And if formatting will help, then can anyone suggest a free online website where I can put my private (family) pics and vids as storage?

you can install a free app called Core Temp
to watch the temp of your pc.
its a nice thing i use it all the time now thanks to the store that recommend it to me
some pc's like mine can't open it by yourself :( yea that s...s but then the store have to clean it for me. and my pc is new again

o the other thing can be to that your fan is broken / worn and you have to replace it with a new one but don't known that cost much or not
and even don't think you can do it yourself :(
