Well it appears someone has hacked my website.

I think it is very sad that people would do this, I cannot upload my index file for 6 hours because I am at school.

It's not all bad all you have to do is change your index file.
Some hackers can be real assh**es, Your lucky all he's done is changed your index file, Could have been worse

How the heck do they even do that... I mean, unless your password was not safe.
Anyways, at least they only changed your index file. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Wonder how they got your details unless you added your ftp details in an app or something? :? . Contact your host and ask for a log of who accessed your site or if you have cpanel or something maybe theres logs in there that can tell you the IP of whoever logged in.
Sorry to hear you were hacked but get on and change your password ASAP.

I'd have your host take a look at the IP and firewall it and also for your host to take a look at their servers for exploitable bugs.

I had the password changed, they've just done it again and they are saying if I do not fix it they will take out parts of my site,

There's no wrong doing in challenging the hackers to identify themselves, but I would be a bit more careful.
