Well Im one of those "people"
I sent a program to casirus over MSN to see if it'll run, after he ran it he said that it works, then he said that it took him to a p*rn site....then he told me that I sent him a virus.
The only thing that was in that program was a msgbox saying "WORKS!!!"
and also the fact that I changed the .NET frame work to 2.0 and the platform to x86
I also changed the processed to "apocalypse" because my new program was going to be called "Apocalypse"
So I guess he must have told CodenStuff about it because I got a PM from CodenStuff concerning a virus that "I sent"
Well I didn't send any virus, I have already scanned my computer and im clean.
I don't know if Casirus was infected before I sent the program or not but it's not me.

mmm that does sound strange NoWayIn
Prehaps the Virus or whatever it is gets attached while its being sent somehow, and it does not reside on anyones machine, I dont know if thats possible, as i dont really know the ins and outs of Viruses, but it could be possible, Like a dormant file that latches on through a ISP :(
I feel for you NoWayIn, as its not nice being accused of sending Viruses, when you know yourself that it was not you.

Hey well people can say whatever they want, it doesn't bother me as long as I know I'm innocent
NoWayIn wrote:Hey well people can say whatever they want, it doesn't bother me as long as I know I'm innocentWere not trying to accuse you of this incident that has happend, we are just bringing the facts. Casirus himself has stated that his work security group at his work has traced the virus back to the program, it could have been like hungry has said "latched" its way on.
talk for your self The security group at work traced the Virus Back to the Program
also when the code was decompiled and de-obfuscated there were traces to the virus and where she the makes this claim
http://www.prevx.com/filenames/X6341310 ... 2.EXE.html
and as BAE systems Security Engineers have stated

As AS Preliminery Investigations have shown the that it is unlikely that the virus was attached in transfer as the evidence shows that the chance of that is very slim and unlikely the system was scanned using Government Strength Anti-Virus Software and there was no Other infection found so as far as we can see this virus came from the Application In Questionso as you can see im not sure i have to go on what they have told me
unlikely the system was scanned using Government Strength Anti-Virus Softwaremmm, How many people use "Government Strength Anti-Virus Software"??
As i am sure not a lot of People do, So really this could happened to anyone, I mean if say "someone is running Avast/AVG" or whatever Antivirus software and that does not pick this up (and as NoWayIn has stated , she scanned her computer ) and thought her Computer was error free, Then there is cause for concern for us all..
So really the Blame is not NoWayIn's fault, Its just a Shame that things like this can manifest itself on a Computer when The Antivirus software says the system is free from errors :?
**I did a scan on my Machine yesterday "A full Deep scan" and that picked nothing up, But then if I am not using a "Government Strength Antivirus Software", then it wont pick it up anyway.
Chris
i use avast for my anti-virus but when i took my laptop to the techs they scanned it using the software they use
so i am only going on what they told me i still trust nowayin because i know what its like with viruses and that but i need to go by what my boss tells me
but yea its all fixed no harm was done all the Secure documents are still secure
but
alls good
so i am only going on what they told me i still trust nowayin because i know what its like with viruses and that but i need to go by what my boss tells me

but

I'm pretty sure NoWayIn is innocent. Something similar happened to me once, I sent a simple .PNG image file to a friend and when he opened the file a lot of malicious websites popped up. I did a scan to the file in my computer and it was clean, it was a bit weird, so I noticed it could be a virus attached in the the file transfer.
Note: I sent the file via xfire, unlike MSN, xfire has no virus scan to files being transfered.

Hello,
Well I did ask NoWayIn about it and im satisfied with her answer I dont believe she would have done it intentionally. I think we should just put it down to one of those things that are just unexplained and forget about it. No harm was done.
One good thing has come out of it though, its made us all aware once again of all the potential threats out there and how important it is to scan all our downloaded files before running them cooll;
