Question about randomness
Cheatmasterbw
If i buy 2 identical computers, turn them on for the first time, and put a program on that generates a random number, will the two computers generate the same random numbers??

Yes i would say thats right :)

If the Program is setup on each computer then the coding will be identical, so they would just repond identically to the Program, (if that makes sense ) :)

Its highly unlikely. There are many factors that can affect the output.

But, What if everything happened at the exact same time and the exact same stuff happened? I think it would be hard to test lol

Hello,

Hmm interesting question. I guess if both systems were 100% identical and I mean all the currect porcesses, settings memory operations and everything was the same down to the microsecond then it could theoretically be possible.

Think of it as 2 eggs, both eggs are precisely the same shape/weight and both eggs are broken in the exact same spot using the exact same amount of force...would the eggs break in the same way and would the egg yolk drop and land in the exact same shape? lol

Its a tough one to answer :P
