Yes, but I think the problem is that it may very well have something wrong inside. Check and see if your CPU is fried, if not then check the HDD, and find the source of your problem. Then replace it. I usually go for Desktop Computers, custom made, but laptops, I would probably go with Dell too.

A few years back i bought a little lead from Ebay that plugged into a Laptop Harddrive and plugged into a PC by USB.. So dont throw your Laptop out try and get a lead or a 3.5 External Enclosure which will do the same job..

That doesn't sound good... Well, if you have to re-install maybe you can tell someone who is good with computers to remove your hard disk and insert it into another computer and make a backup, then you wont loose your stuff...
Or if it shows the startup screen then select boot-up in safe mode.

I personally like Dell, i haven't had any problems with them, and maybe HP

I KNOW the reason its A MBR error that means nothing is damaged except 1 important file but you can easily repair it i'd just simply prefer to chat and tell her that

you can google bitdefender boot disk it has an MBR repair app along with a virus scan i had to use it to fix my media center pc worked like a charm
p.s. i have had an HP laptop for 4 years now and never had a problem with it so i stand behind them fully the dell i had before that was a pos

use your windows installation disc if you have one load it and select repair
then select boot errors or sommet it should automatically fix it
