I am planning on getting a new hard drive soon. Does anyone know how to copy all the files from the old hard drive to the new one (Operating System, Files, etc.)? Thanks!
Hey
If you have a Tower Pc, then there will be a spare cable to rig up another Harddrive, You set the newone as a SLAVE by setting the Jumpers on the Harddrive, then REBOOT and your OS should recognise it as a Slave and it will appear in MY COMPUTER as a HARDDRIVE Icon, then you just treat it as a Normal Drive and copy to it,
hope this Helps

Will an eSata port in my laptop work? (I have a Sata to eSata cable)
And would I copy the files by right-clicking the old hard drive from My Computer, selecting Copy, then paste into the new hard drive?

I use Norton Ghost to "ghost" my HD.

You only need to start changing jumpers if you are using an IDE drive.
DriveImage XML can be used to copy a whole drive.
