Upgrading To Windows 7!
mikethedj4
I decided I'd upgraded from Vista to Windows 7.

I've never had any problems with Vista myself, but it feels like one of thoughs times where you've used something for so long. It's lossed it's value, and time to upgrade it.

Now I'm very familiar with Windows 7, cause I repair a lot of computers out here from desktops, laptops, and tablet devices that have Windows, and/or Linux installed. So yes I am used to it.

Now some of you know my optical disk drive is undetected so how am I gonna install Windows 7?

I copied the contents of a clients installation disk to my flash drive with her permission using 7-Zip, and WinToFlash (Honestly you don't need WinToFlash all you need to do is copy the contents from the CD to the flash drive, but I recommend WinToFlash for thoughs that don't know what their doing.) I then rebooted my OS, and I was at the installation screen.

Anyway I just thought I would share the good news.

Edit:
I just finished installing Windows 7. However I gotta install my drivers now. Especially the display driver. I don't like viewing at 1024x768. I'm a 1280x800 kind of guy.

Windows 7 is better is some ways, and Vista is better in others. Each have strong points, but it's better to keep upto date.

I just decided to get rid of Windows, and put Linux on. I just can't stand anything Microsoft. Although I will still be able to run Windows in a virtual machine so I can still test out your guys's programs. Although if it don't require the .NET Framework I'll be running it on Linux using WINE.

I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal (i386 = 32bit version)

When you install it make sure you check, the boxes to get all that extra software, and the updates. That way you'll get the best experience.

I personally like Ubuntu 11.04 the best, but I hate a lot of the software that's preinstalled like LibreOffice, and Pitivi Video Editor for example. In my opinion Ubuntu 9.04 had the best preinstalled software. It came preinstalled with GIMP, Open Office, Blender, and much more. Unfortunately they have the old Blender 2.49 in the Software Center, and not the latest so you'll haft to get it from Blender's Website.
