The biomes in minecraft are all flat, dull and boring.

This mod brings the life back into minecraft ExtraBiomes mod adds over 16 new different biomes including some really good ones that have been removed in 1.8

Here are some pics:

Autumn Woods
Somewhat flat with frequent mild hills and mountains.


Birch Forest
Mostly flat, with occasional bumps in the terrain. The only natural tree that grows here is Birch!


Forested Hills
Same terrain gen code as Notches Extreme Hills, but really green and lush.


Forested Islands
Oceans need more than dull, 3x7 islands with no life on them! Let's get some mountains, trees, and wildlife in there!


Glacier
Cold and icy, extremely mountainous, and barren. Glaciers are immense wonders of nature.


Green Hills
Smooth (mostly) green hills. Just look at the screenshot. ;)


Green Swamp
Exactly the same as Notches Swamp, but without ugly water and tree colors. Trust me, it's such a relief.


Ice Mountain
The name is a tad misleading. No, this biome is not filled with ice. Just snow on dirt. This was made by Notch.


Jungle
The lushest biome in the mod. Packed with Vines, massive trees, ferns, tall grass, water lily's, mushrooms, and flowers.


Meadow
A beautiful flat biome with tons of tall grass, and flowers. It's also really green!


Mountainous Desert
Same as Notches desert, but uber mountainous.


Mountain Taiga
Same trees as normal Taiga, except snowy and mountainous. (In the next Minecraft update, Jeb will make normal Taiga's snowy too, so these should work well together.


Rainforest
Mountainous, lush, overgrown with ferns, the perfect biome.


Savanna
Yellow, flat, and smothered in tall grass. Fun!


Shrubland
Despite the name, this biome has no tall grass. It was modeled after the old Shrublands that were sadly removed in 1.8.


Snow Forest
Just look at the screen shot and you'd love it.


Wasteland
Lifeless, dull and hideous. What more could you want?

In minecraft 1.0 all biomes are flat except Extreme hills and mushroom. Thats kind of boring, isnt it?
