Hello guys,
I have noticed since this morning that my laptop's volume is not as high as it was yesterday. The music is all good but the system sounds such as the 'ting' sound which occurs when a message pops up or a error occurs, is not as high. What can be causing this problem? The system sounds volume is at max in the volume mixer.

I know sometimes headphones can wear out over time. This happend to me over a few days, possibly the speakers could be damaged.
Does the audio out port sound any different?

It was just my laptop speakers. However, I've got them to work now. Thankfully, Casirus was online at Steam yesterday the time I posted and he helped me out over TeamViewer. The driver just needed a reboot so enabling/disabling them did the job. Even Casirus doesn't have a reasonable answer for the problem. He said that the drivers sometimes have problems due to which some sounds drop down. Anyways, I'll wait for you to reply and then lock the topic.

I figured out the problem. It was just a communication software (Nymgo) which I use to talk to my relatives in some other country. Whenever it is open, the system sounds drop. I think it does that on purpose so that system sound don't disturb the communication. However, when I close the software, the sounds are normal.
I know that, skype has that too, and I find it the most useless feature in skype...
