Yeah i know. Each world should be installed with each client, so it only passes the world name and the clients loads the correct level. Login data would need encryption, preferably with some 512 bit prime number passwords (Diffie-Hellman). But I don't think that there would be so much players that it would overload the server, at least not in the first year. Speed is another thing, because a computer on a home network would be very slow with more than 8 players I guess. If its going to be 2 teams, maximum 5 on each team is my guess. The computer would need a good portion of RAM, and a great HDD with high speed and much storage.

Hey Casirus, you need to sleep, while you were writing this, did u notice you didn't have any punctuation ?

Also, which software are you guys thinking of developing this game in ?
There is one called something like Unix/Unity or something like that.
I think he wants this in .NET. I wish it could be made in C++, because .NET is easily decompiled, with no exception of managed
C++. We do not have any pro's in unmanaged C++ (Im sure mandai wont join), but I know a little. Obfuscating is a rescue, but good ones cost money, so who would pay?
I have to disagree, .net is only easily decompiled when your stupid, to date there's many obfuscaters out there that have not been cracked.

and @OP; Will the voice communications be encrypted?

okn it will be on unity so all the .net and c++ stuff dont worry we'll find something, and the voice coms will be tied to the game I guess because the games will be in private matchmaking so its kind of like invite to play. There will be user accounts on a mysql base i think and we will have the actual map files downloaded with the game, the games themselves is what im not sure of, whether we want them hosted on the host's pc or on our own servers.

I'm not joining, just as you know. And DreadNought; most free obfuscators only have some sort of renaming. The voice chat probably don't need to be encrypted, and it would lower the quality and speed. I can't see any reason that anyone would try to crack it :?
