That's how long I have been signed up to this website - 3 Years, 4 Months, 26 days... wow.


You may not think I'm very active here, but I do actually check the threads an awful lot.

If you're interested in the back story why I signed up to Code'n'stuff you may read on.

I signed up to this website when I was about 12 years old (15 now) with next to no knowledge in programming, I was just having some fun with Visual Basic and all that jazz, I spent some time here doing... I'm not too sure what it was a long time ago - But I remember getting inspiration from here too.

So where am I now?

Well, I'm proud to say that since I joined this website I have worked with highly experienced developers(some of whom are certified by microsoft) whom know all type of languages (C++, Delphi, C#, Java etc etc) and it really has changed my life - Being a developer is like have a certain state of mind, you are forced to do a huge amount of logical thinking in programming and after years of doing that - it really does change your life, how you think and asses things.

I didn't get here just from code'n'stuff's inspiration though, I got it from personal motivation and a guy called Ultimation who I'll explain in just a moment,.

What was my initial motivation? Finish something. (Little did I know that's next to impossible, but I stuck with it - that's the main thing)

Ultimation... ultimation... ultimation.

Where do I even begin with this guy? Let's try* and start from the top.

So I joined a Conquer Online development community and was there for a little while, one of the private servers for the game that immediately jumped out on you was AcidCO.

This was the most awesomely featured packed server I had seen for the game (But I won't go into that, I know you don't care) and anyone you asked what's the best "source" for the game - AcidCO was always the answer (It wasnt open source) and it was pretty much there and then I decided wow. I want to be able to create a source as awesome that.

It didn't take long for me to find the Owner / Creator of AcidCO - Ultimation, but he was pretty much a huge dude in that community so I figured he would never take any notice of me.

So.. 6 months or so pass and Ultimation opens a new server, AcidCOV3 - And I'm talking to a friend on my msn list who was lucky enough to have this guy on his msn and was watching him code a new AntiCheat for the game - Lucky him.

I asked him if he would ask Ultimation if I could watch, but we both already knew what the answer would be... so we never asked.

Instead we were a tad naughty, and I watched the guy's screen - who was watching Ultimation's screen, it was awesome (sucks I didn't understand toooo much of what was going on).

Later on that night I login to the game to find the AntiCheat started and finished the same day..
(For all you people who will think it sucked, think injection, hooking, dx jazz, packet to server communication with encryptions and active client memory manipulation - Yeah, still laughing?)

and I said in game "wow... you got the anticheat out quickly, impressive" and so Ultimation's response was at first "thanks " but then quickly turned into "Are you jack?" I guess he noticed my name.. I replied with "nope" and then was quickly sent to the games "Jail" with a few broadcasts to the entire server following it - Reading "DREADNOUGHT IS JACK".. So, I screwed up - I was ready to get myself unjailed and tell him the full story.

... and so I do - and I say something similar to "It's a shame I'm not important enough to get noticed by you guys" .. something like that and to my utter shock he explains to me that it's not that and minutes later he invited me to watch him code a new Tournament (properly this time) ... wahooo;

So after that and up until this day Ultimation has pretty much taught me everything I know, from packets->anticheats to pretty dope things.

I have at least* least! One Thousand hours of TeamViewer time with him, that's over 40 days straight - If I could I would say it's probably around the 1.5-2k mark.





You remember that thing I said earlier, that creating something as awesome as AcidCO was my motivation to keep going.

6 months ago, around christmas - I did.

Ultimation & I actually developed the latest AcidCO source.. together.

Coding AcidCO with ultimation? 3 years back I would of laughed in your face then fantasized about it. (No. Just no. You know who you are)


And there you have it.

It's good to know that Codenstuff helped to get you where you are today and that you managed to reach your goal to create something like AcidCO (I have no idea what that is lol).

All I can say is keep going, keep creating, keep coding and continue to reach your goals because anything is possible when you put your mind to it cooll;

Time is definitely flying by - To think I was barely in Secondary School when I signed up here and now I'll be in college in just 9 weeks, crazy!

I can totally relate. I just graduated Secondary school last week, and I'm entering CEGEP (basically college) in two and a half months... Time goes by so fast.

Anyway, congratulations on the 4 years, I reached that milestone just a few months ago as well. It's always great to hear stories from members who have set goals for themselves and have actually reached them at least in part because of the CNS community.

Keep up the great work cooll;

Definitely in part from CNS, I actually believe this site played a vital role in the beginning, without it who knows how different that story could've been :P
