Transition to madness

Today's challenge is all about image manipulation/animation.

Using VB or C# you need to create a desktop slideshow application that includes the ability to add image transitions/animations to the slideshow process. Here's a video which demonstrates loads of different transitions while cycling through images:

Obviously some of those may be a bit too complicated to do in just 24 hours but do your best and try to include at least 5 different transition effects, these can be applied automatically to the slideshow or you can let the user choose their own from a list.

Rules for this challenge:
Must be a desktop based application coded in VB or C#
User must be able to select a folder of images which will be imported as the slideshow.
The slideshow must cycle through all the images using transition effects.
Must have a minimum of 5 different effects.

Completion of this challenge is worth 100 points cooll;
