yea one time i was on my computer playing minecraft and i just kept on walking straight for a long time in full screen at full fog distance and after about 5 minutes my computer shutoff and my projecter said display not available so i got to agree with mandai its probably ovverheating

Or you could check the logs and make sure its not just a processor overheating.

Maybe make sure it's all well ventilated (don't put anything over or under it except if it's on a table or whatever). And if the power supply is overheating that may mean that too much power is going in in the first place. You should check with a voltmeter.

A common cause of overheating in laptops is due to dust that builds up around the inside of the fan vents. If you are sure that is what is causing the problem, then the only option is to take it apart and check for yourself.

do you know if it is possible to install liquid cooling into laptops?
cause that would surely stop overheating right?

I personally haven't seen any liquid cooling systems used in laptops. I'd imagine it would require a lot of battery power to keep the pump running, plus it would have to be a supported option from the manufacturer as there would be no generic case support.

Although there is (I don't think) any liquid cooling system for laptops, stores do sell cooling tablets. They are like a plastic tablet with a fan, and you put your laptop on top of it

my laptops gives a red light when the charger is bad like if your motherboard is fried but it was my power supplies was shorting out... it may be the problem if the pc not getting enough power it will draw more current. and the power supplies will get hot but i don't think it would effect the pc, how much memory is your computer running at when idle oh and lol did you make sure it was not a virus

You have to make sure you use a charger that is as much as the old charger or else something bad may happen. For instance me and my older brother we're playing around with a changable charger which changes from 12v to 13v without warning and we put that charger in a external hd and it fried up the hd it self so he lost 1tb of data, if this is the case alway use exact volt, walt and amper on electrons such as hd's, laptops and such.

You can also use a vacuum cleaner and suck out the dust. My old computer overheated a couple of times and each time there were lots of dust in the fan. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the fan. It works for me, it hasn't overheated once since we started doing that each month.
