Hello Coders,

I have been hard at work trying to come up with new features for the site and one of those features will be available soon.

I call it Scrapbook



Scrapbook allows you to create 'pages' of topic links, similar to bookmarking but this has more organisation. I always wanted a feature like this because it lets you compile your own link lists to specific topics related to what you need. For example lets say you wanted to code a web browser app but you didn't know how to do certain things in order to make it work, you find topics with code related to created a web browser and save them in your scrapbook..an example list of topics could be:



How to add web browser control to a form
How to add navigation buttons to a web browser
How to save web pages

Now when you start coding your web browser you can find them all quickly and easily.

You can also add notes to a scrapbook page to save little code bits or jot down what you may need next to complete your project etc.



When the feature is live on site you can access your scrapbook via the sidebar and when you want to create a page or save a link in your scrapbook you just have to push the purple button visible in a topic page:

One thing I would recommend, though, is to add the ability to search for topics and posts relating to your project, so you can add them to your scrapbook. To make this easier, it would be interesting to allow adding tags to post. For example, a WebBrowser building tutorial in VB.NET could have tags such as (WebBrowser, tutorial, VB.NET). Tags could be added by the user, but perhaps moderators could be able to edit/add tags so all posts can be tagged appropriately.

I'm also finally working on a notification feature as well (been wanting one for years lol)
