Hello Coders,
Work has been going on behind the scenes to further improve the site and we'll have a new round of updates within the next week or two.
So what's coming?
Mark as solved will make a return to the site allowing you to mark your coding questions as 'solved' so others will know you no longer need assistance and allow other users to find the solution to the same problem quickly. You will also be able to un-mark a solved topic if it turns out the answer given didn't work as expected or you require further assistance with the same problem. This will be tied in with the reputation and credits systems to reward users for their help.
User profile pages have had a tiny redesign and will now include a recent activity area showing what you've been up to on the site, we're not spying on you, it just shows any topics/posts you've made recently and anybadges you've received...stuff like that.
We'll also have a new report feature where you can report any issues/problems found with the site or page displays, this will allow us to fix things a lot quicker with your help in identifying any problems.
Lots of template improvements/fixes have been made to try get everything running smoothly on as many devices/resolutions as possible.
Bots, these annoying things have once again proved to be a problem recently for us in that they register on the site and post as much spam as they can before being detected. To tackle this we've introduced a new anti-bot measure (made by us) that appears on the first part of the registration process, it requires the user to select the correct colourful icon in order to continue with the registration process, it has been designed in such a way to not only make the process simple for new human users but also that bots should not be able to identify which icon they need to click to continue, this is already live on the site and so far it appears to have worked - fingers crossed.

A lot of other improvements have been made to make our moderators lives a lot easier. Mods will now be able to ban bots and any other rule breaking users with ease, this is a great click-and-ban feature with no need for user input..it won't mean much to regular users but to our mods it will be a much welcomed feature.

Oh yes! it WILL be back this year.
I'm currently in the process of creating an area of the site that will be 100% dedicated to this crazy annual event. We will have challenges, games and prizes to give away. More on this in a few weeks time.
