Hi there ppl i m just making this post as i might have seen some stuff that might be useful for this forum


So here is the list u should try to add if u can becuz this will make the forum a little bit better wit the new features. This is just a suggestion u dont have to do it.


First of all i think you should add a small chat room at the bottom or a chat page on theforum so people can chat with each other rather than posting and spamming and pming and alll becuz this will be really useful

To get a free small chatroom which is not hard to control at all u can use this one http://WWW.XAT.COM

That is a good chatroom software website.


You should also add more ranks like something bigger than a VIP and also some more ranks like a Site Editor or something i dont know but it would be cool if there were more ranks..

Third thing u should add is a points system.

So u earn points when u post.
If u post 10 posts in like 20 minutes u will like probably count that as spam or something and all.

I think u guys should add these 3 things if u like becuz i think the forum will be a bit better

o and wit the points thingy ppl can like get like some stuff like Backgrounds and all some type or stuff or even if they get alot of points they can get a rank up without even earning it even though that aint a good idea .

But that would make them post and if they spam they can just get spam mail banned something for a day or something i don;t know


Some of my ideas are stupid including the points one lol but i dont know if u think it will work or not

I have tried to add a points/rating system in the past but unfortunately it makes the website go all screwy and doesnt work properly so I had to remove it. When I find a stable working points/rating system I will deffinately be adding it though so dont worry.

We do have various ranks as follows:

Member - Given after first post made
Coder - Given after 10 posts made
Top Poster - Given after 30 posts made
VIP Member - Given after 50 posts made

Special ranks are:

Girls Group - Join if your a girl and owned by Kimbo (request only)
Supreme VIP - Currently the highest rank on the site

What other ranks would you like?. If anyone would like there own group rank just let me know and I will create it for you. You can even create your own rank image and send to me via PM and the only thing I ask is that you keep the image no bigger than 126 x 26 pixels.

VIP member, soon you'll have to disable the 50 posts = vip member thingy, users will have to pay or something, VIP means Very Important Person, if you keep that like you have actually people will spam just to get the VIP membership and leave after, just like CodemaN...

Make the ranks like this:

- Newbie 0 - 10 posts
- Member 11 - 20 posts
- Senior Member 21 - 50
- Addicted 51 - 100
- Top Poster 101 - 200
- Senior Top Poster 201 - 400
- Master Poster 401 - 1000
- Codenstuff'o Maniac - 1001+

Special Ranks:

VIP Members - Must pay to access VIP membership (VIP's have a special zone where they can post things that can only be accessed by people who paid, also community staff must access it).
Girls club - By request only (owned by kimbo)
Moderators - Only administrator is able to choose who are the moderators, they are perfectly trusted people that moderate our forum to keep it clean and organizated.
Administrators - Owners of the community
Support Team - The guys who threat all support requests and help the users with they technical problems (they must have a proper knowledge about what they are dealing with)

I've a huge knowledge about Forums and communities related stuff because I've been administrator and moderator of a huge amount of Forums and Communities, most of them well-known communities, I've a vast knowledge about administration panels and what users, overall, like.

If you want I can deal with the Ranks thing, Ranks and Groups are totally different stuff, Ranks are the attributions that change with the quantity of posts and activity, Groups are ... groups... Really, If you want I can deal with this stuff, there are many things I think they can be improved, and I've a lot of free time and I've nothing to do X_X, I would like to help you because I know you've been doing a lot and a lot for us... Let me help you in the administration panel and creating those ranks, the better and unorganized it is the more people will join.

Charging for VIP access may, and I stress the word 'may' be something we can explore in the future depending on just how popular/active the website becomes. At the moment people can gain instant access to the VIP area if they make a minimum donation of £1 as a thankyou for there generosity and support. I also understand that quite alot of new programmers out there are under 16-18 years of age and are unable to use the online payment to make that donation so I included some other ways that they can gain access both of which would hopefully encourage them to start posting and becoming a part of our community. Even after making 50+ posts they still have to wait for me to check and make sure the posts they submitted are genuine and not just "for the sake of it" spam before I give them VIP status.

I will add alot more ranks eventually but rite now the 'active' user base isnt that high with maybe only 10 of us actually posting on a regular basis with maybe 70% of our other fellow members simply visiting/browsing the site on random occasions.

As for admins we will be needing some in the future but as ive just said there just isnt enough active users to justify it at the moment. When the number of active users grow we will see a massive increase in the number of posts being made and that is when I will need admins to monitor the community when im not here but until then I can handle it ;)

The most used page throughout the entire site is the "Downloads" page with now over 2000 downloads made in the last month and a half and if you compare that with the number of people who have taken the time to register its not much of a comparison is it. So I may lock the downloads to registered members only but then ill feel weird because ill be forcing people to register in order to download :? , we deffinately need to do something thats for sure.

I am in the middle of re-designing some of the pages and adding some new content which will hopefully bring more people to the site and encourage them to get involved. The main goal I think rite now is to get people registered and active on the site and im open to any suggestions on what anyone thinks would accomplish that cooll;

Forcing people to register in order to download is a good idea, by using our products they must have something connected to codenstuff community... Lets not be too generous...

Thanks for the replies i have tried to go to the chatroom but it doesn;t work for some reason so i dont know and i agree with NeRy's ranks that is something like it should be and i think he is thinking somethign lieke me so yea and for the points system its ok but if there was like then they could buy stuff lol so if there will be one tell me lol i would try to be the number one wit points lol (without spamming though) and yea CodeMan was probably a spammer as in a bot becuz he wrote like almost the same thing in each topic and there should be less spam so with the VIP thing i guess i can agree but i cant pay lol becuz i dont got a credit card or something so thats all and good luck

Hi All
I think locking the downloads for a while is quite a good idea, as if they are genuinly interested in VB or this site then they will have to Register to get at the Goodies on Offer cooll;
