Well I've been doing minor projects here and there like a calculator, stop watch, pixel editor, text editor, etc: etc: in JavaScript, and/or JQuery, and I decided after seeing another web OS today I decided I'd like to make one just for fun. So you guys will see what has been added, what I'm working on, etc: etc: in this topic. I'm going to use HTML5, CSS3, and JQuery when developing this. Most likely I'll implement PHP with it later on, if you wanna develop software for the app just hit me up via pm, and I'll see what I can do.

A web based OS sounds very interesting mike what type of things do you see it being able to do? will it do things like file management on your computer etc

I'm just going to start out small, and build up so when I'm bored I'll be contributing to it.

Right now I'm designing the desktop panel, icons, etc: etc:
Then apps for it, like a web browser, calculator, etc: etc:
After that I'm gonna try and have users be able to connect to their hdd from the site, not sure how yet, but it's gonna be a run project.

Spent a couple hours thinking of how I wanted it designed, and drew a couple templates, but this is just a mock-up right now. I might have the software listed below with arrows to navigate threw it, but I'm thinking Accessories, Games, Drawing, Internet, Office, and System.

All made by me, no stocks except the world one, which I'm gonna change later on I just have it there to remember the order in which I want everything at.

Sorry guys been pretty busy, but this is what I've got done so far as far as designing it goes, all I left left is the GUI for the applications, and then it'd be time to work on coding the base of it before I can go on with anything else regarding the OS. (still have no clue what I'm gonna do with that taskbar yet)

Thanks! I'm still designing it, I haven't got close to coding it yet, in which that means It's to early for a release date.

Display what application is running and CPU things and such

If you're planning to do this trough PHP, it would be nice

Will this have its own file system? Because I wouldn't imagine that could be accomplished in HTML5/JQuery/PHP/CSS3.
