Hi. I was wondering if it is legal to download many songs for free (that wouldn't normally be) for school purposes ONLY. Thanks!

Nope.

Unless you get "written permission" from the recorders/artists/etc. or you delete the files after use.

I may be wrong. (this was only stated in case a bunch of record producers see this : P

Just get remixes of the song
technically its a different song.

Since somewhen in 2010 all songs are copyrighted and must be bought, but i download them for free anway :lol:

It depends if the song is copyrighted or not, if so you'll haft to purchase the legal rights of it, in order to actually use it, and still you gotta be careful.
