They didn't steal the name, there's netbooks, notebooks, and apple decided to be creative with their mac calling their laptops macbooks. I see no reason why Google wouldn't do the same, it's easier for the user to remember the name.

I do think it's a dumb idea to takeout the caps lock key, and replace it with a search key, but I don't really care though, cause I don't use it.

The keys better be backlit though. I'll wait for reviews before I buy one, case it's like $450

Hello,

These look good but I wont be getting one and ill tell you why:

1) The price for these are estimated at around $450 + ...you can get an actual laptop/ipad/or PC for roughly the same amount

2) Most of the apps available are stored and run on the cloud with only a small percentage able to run offline which means if you dont have internet access (drops out/cut off/no wifi signal) then you cant use the apps. Imagine if you paid for loads of apps that you need and then couldnt use them because your internet doesnt work.

3) Cant run any normal software on it like VS, photoshop so no use to anyone who needs these type of software for work or whatever.

These chrome books will be pretty much a mobile/tablet that looks like a laptop and you should only buy one if all you need is a web browser because it wont be much use for anything else. Dont get me wrong they look pretty cool and if the price was about $100-$150 then I would consider buying one for surfing out and about.

I'll download this on vmware. There will be probably a download link somewhere... But for tablets i'd rather use android 3.0+
