Mounting iso's

when mounting an iso with poweriso does it go to ones main harddrive or somewhere else such as what virtualbox does

ive only usued poweriso once and ive used daemon tools more but doesnt it temporarily create a virtual drive or something along them lines?

He means if a virtual drive is stored on the hard drive

Mounting a virtual drive does not cause any more physical space to be used.

I am guessing it is read from the ISO itself and not copied. But I might be wrong , I'm not an expert at these things
