after i installed 4 gb of ram and then installed a service pack my computer started to use more memory than before when i usally have the same things opened.does anyone know why?

Well, some OS take more power than others, and if his OS is too much for 4gb of RAM, it'l be easy to solve the problem. Maybe the problem is in the BIOS, that's why it's easier to know what the computer is

im guessing seeing as you have more ram now your computers gonna want to use more ram perhaps?

I agree with Snyper, maybe you actually did not have quite enough before, so now that you do, Windows is using it I've searched but I can't find similar problems with you computer model. Sorry :(
