Hello Codenstuffers,

Today, I got a Toshiba TEMPRO Alert regarding internet security and cybercriminals. I am not scared but I do want my files to be safe. I have the free version of avast! already installed on my computer. Is it enough or do I need some advanced internet security as well? And if I do need it, is there any good one which is free as well? And also, will it work alongside avast!? The thing I'm asking here is what is the best combination of computer security softwares?

Thanks.

I know this is kinda OffTopic but you can use dropbox to back up some important files such as school or vb.net. Works if you pc gets infected anyhow.

And OnTopic:
I use a payed version of Norton Internet Sec 2012 but Avast! is quit good i heared?
Practice makes perfect!

Here are some good ones (not in order):

Avast
AVG
Avira

Here Are Some I Recommend:
AVG: Great Scanning, has a lot of features, but not good in performance.
AVAST: Very good scanning, has a lot of features, good in performance.
BIT DEFENDER: Very good anti-virus, has a few features, good in performance.
NORTON INTERNET SECURITY: Very good scanning, awesome features, and great performance.

But I Mostly Recommend Norton Internet Security because has a lot of features that can protect your computer, and good on performance which means it doesn't slow down your computer.

Please don't recommend Norton, it sucks! And I have avast! already, what I wanted to know is that does it have inbuilt internet security?

For best security, I think, you can use combination: antivirus + firewall + anti-malvare.
I am using Microsoft Security Essentials + Comodo Firewall + SpyBot: Search & Destroy.
They are all free and gives you one of the best results, and it's just better then antivirus by himself.

Hey

I have been using Avast for about 10 years or more, and its FREE :) I have never paid for Antivirus Software in all the while i have had computers. I did start off with Norton ( which was just so Laggy it was a joke ) and went onto Avast from there..

My thoughts exactly. I've used Avast! for over 5 years. My sister, my mom, and my grandfather have been using it forma while also. I definitely recommend it!
